Do you remember travelling?
I hope you are well and avoiding any red pills. You’ll notice some changes on this email; first, that it was sent from my Gmail instead of my main address —provided by Apple— since this was the reason for this newsletter to fall in your spam folder. Also, I took some time to move this to Mailchimp and change some design details; I hope you like it better. Last, whether ‘writing can make one a better designer’ was always a big topic for discussion. Honestly, I’m not sure about it. However, I liked the approach found in this article, saying that actually “it’s designing that can make you a better designer, but writing can help”.
So, back to this week’s theme. You‘ve probably seen that the coronavirus numbers are showing “improvements” in some countries, allowing them to ease their travel restrictions. Try to add to these the warnings about mental health and the weather getting warmer (even in the UK), and it might make sense that so many people are talking about summer holidays.
I’m sure we’re all missing these. I can’t remember a summer in my life so far that I haven’t spent at least some days next to a beach in Greece. I hope that something amazing will happen soon (have you read the news about a potential vaccine?) but even in the most positive turn of events, how fast can we return to “normal”? From what I read, it doesn’t look safe to make any plans, at least no more than something like this. So, what are your plans for this summer?
